COVID-19 Checklist for ALL In-Person Gatherings

Pre-Event Screening

Every scout and adult attendee is required to review and adhere to this BSA checklist: 680-102.pdf (scouting.org)

Gear Required

Every scout and adult attendee is required to bring the following personal gear:

  • Face mask* - to be worn if social distancing of greater than 6 feet cannot be maintained.

  • Work gloves - to be worn during the rare instances when gear is shared.

  • Personal gear - specific to activity or event (e.g. rope, compass, knife).

Protocols

Every scout and adult attendee is expected to adhere to the following:

  • Maintain social distancing of greater than 6 feet. Normal activities (fall-in, flags, etc.) have been modified to keep the troop spread out.

  • Gather outdoors whenever feasible. When not feasible to gather outdoors, the gathering area must be well ventilated and large enough to support social distancing.

  • Minimize the sharing of gear. Participants are expected to bring their own items when possible.

  • Travel to and from activities with only family members. If it is necessary to carpool in order to participate, it is recommended that everyone follow carpooling best practices.

* Notes regarding masks:

  • In the brief instances when social distancing of greater than 6 feet cannot be maintained (e.g. participating in flag corps), masks must be worn by those within 6 feet of others.

  • Participants are welcome to voluntarily wear their mask at all times if it makes them more comfortable.

  • However, the voluntary wearing of masks does NOT exempt one from maintaining social distancing of greater than 6 feet.
