Arrive SJV 5:00 - 5:30 PM for a 5:45 PM departure on Friday. Come fed and ready to go.
On Saturday morning we will depart at 9:30am for canoeing and kayaking. We will be using Guadalupe Canoe Livery on the
Guadalupe
River
above
Canyon
Lake
. The Livery is on Hwy 281 just north of the river crossing in Spring
Branch. According to both Yahoo and Google Maps, the fastest driving
directions from Round Rock is to go 35 South to 290 West to 281
South. Then the Livery is just before you cross the Guadalupe. Their

- Those attending will need $25 ($15 for canoe and $10 for food on the way back)
- Bring water & food for 2 mornings and one lunch and one dinner
- It is suggested to bring your carabiners in case of swamped canoes
- Bring snacks for the trip

El Rancho Cima is located approximately 180 miles west of
Houston
. Take I-10 to Luling and Highway 80 to
San Marcos
. From
San Marcos
, take Ranch Road 12 ten miles West to the intersection of Ranch Road
12 and 32. Continue west on Ranch Road 32 for five miles. You will come
to El Rancho Cima's gate on your right at the bottom of the hill just
past the Devil's Backbone rest area. Continue on the entrance road and
go left at the Ranger's house. Turn left at the Horseshoe Bend sign to
go to Horseshoe or continue on to Cockrell River Camp.

Here are some directions we have used before that might be useful as they provide road names.
- I 35 South to San Marcos
- Take Exit 205 in San Marcos
- Turn RT @ light on RR12 and proceed 1.4 miles to Moore St.
- Turn RT on Moore St (RR12) and proceed 9.9 miles to RR32 / RR12 junction
- Straight through RR32 / RR12 junction and proceed 5.4 miles to El Rancho Cima entrance
- The Camp entrance is on the right side of the road ~.3 miles after road side picnic area
